The General Council of Psychology of Spain endorses the Euro-African Network of Psychology (Erasmus+ AngoSAP)

The Euro-African Network for Psychology, driven within the framework of the Erasmus+ AngoSAP Project (101128979 - AngoSAP - ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE), has received the institutional endorsement of the General Council of Psychology of Spain (COP), a backing of particular relevance for strengthening scientific and professional cooperation between Europe and Africa.

This recognition has been awarded by the Governing Board of the COP at its meeting on 27 March 2026, reflecting the institution's interest in supporting initiatives aimed at the internationalisation of psychology, the exchange of knowledge and the creation of academic collaboration networks.

The Euro-African Psychology Network is born as an evolution of the AngoSAP Project, an initiative funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme. Its aim is to strengthen university psychological support services in Angolan universities through the transfer of good practices, specialised training, and inter-institutional cooperation.

Among its main objectives are:

  • To foster Euro-African cooperation in the field of psychology from a transdisciplinary approach.
  • To promote the dissemination of research and good practices through conferences, publications, and training activities.
  • To ensure the sustainability of the ANGOSAP project's results and to consolidate lasting international partnerships.

The Network coordinators, Dr José I Navarro Guzmán y Dr Álvaro Rodríguez Mora they have expressed their deep gratitude to the COP for this institutional endorsement, highlighting its value as recognition of the joint work carried out and as an impetus to continue promoting rigorous, inclusive, and socially committed psychology.

Furthermore, it is stressed that the COP's participation in the Network will be of an institutional support nature, and opens the door to future collaborations in scientific, training, and knowledge transfer activities.

This milestone represents a significant step in the consolidation of the Euro-African Psychology Network as a stable space for cooperation between European and African institutions.
