Yesterday, 23rd October 2024, the 2nd AngoSAP Project Workshop took place; it is part of Course 4: Preventive Activities within the Psychoeducational Diagnostic and Guidance Centre (CDOP). This significant session in the fight against suicide was led by Dr. Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Serrano, a specialist in Developmental and Educational Psychology.

The workshop brought together participants from various Angolan universities that are part of the consortium, including Óscar Ribas University, Namibe University, Lueji A´Nkonde University, and the Higher Pedagogical School of Bié. The seminar focused on suicide prevention, a crucial topic that highlights the vital connection between mental health and emotional well-being, especially in the context of Mental Health Month.

Throughout this October, the importance of addressing mental health as a key component of suicide prevention is being emphasised, providing tools and knowledge to tackle this issue. Active participation and the exchange of ideas between universities were fundamental in enriching the experience for all attendees.

Furthermore, it was announced that next week a workshop on Emotional Management, led by Dr. Álvaro Rodríguez, will take place, promising to continue the educational momentum and awareness surrounding mental health.
